Here I am again with yet another Liebster Award! :D Thanks to my good friend Tia at Read It Write Now, i have to answer another set of annoying questions.

I MEAN i love you Tia! :D Thanks for these amazing questions! #SO_EXCITED! ( seriously, that wasn't sarcasm xD )

Because this isn't my first time being nominated, i decided to only answer Tia's questions instead of the whole thing all over again. If you want 11 facts and more questions answered by ME click these awesome words.

1. Do you like reviewing books you liked or didn't like better?

I enjoy both quite a lot. If i liked the book and thus write a positive review, i'll feel happy ^.^But if i did not like a book and so will write a negative review, i'll feel good for being honest and putting my critique out there.
So yeah, both are fine by me ;). 

2. If you were tossed into the world of the Hunger Games, who would you want as your ally?

Nobody! I'd totally win the hunger games on my own. Let the strong kill the weak and then strike when they think they're safe >:). Allies are useless, they'll betray you anyway. Better kill them immediately, that way you don't have to share resources.

3. During a zombie apocalypse, what would be your weapon of choice?

One weapon? really? Probably a machete. No ammo or noise issues.  

4. What is your favorite book to movie adaptation?

Umm, Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone? xD Love that movie! <3

5. What is the book that you turn to for comfort?

The Throne of Glass novellas! They're short and just... nice.
Comforting in their simplicity.
No major mysteries or plot twists that need your attention, you can just read through them in peace ^.^

6. Say you got locked inside a Barnes and Nobles for days on end with nothing to do but read, what section of the store would you start at?

:o I would like that.. very much...
Probably the horror section :D

7. What book character do you think you are like the most?

Katniss Everdeen. Like... I hate her. But she's selfish and all that. So am I. So yeah... Katnip and I are one and the same, kinda.

8. If you were stuck on an island and were only allowed to bring three things with you, what would they be?

How would i get stuck on an island AND be allowed to take stuff before i get stuck there? ...whatever.
Probably matches.. a cooking pot and A dagger.

9. If there was one song that described you, what would it be?

hmm...ehmm. Probably Blackout by Muse

10. What is your biggest pet peeve when it comes to books?

DOG EARS Ughh! How can people do that?!
Also too many metaphors. ugh. and melodramatic writing

11. Love triangles? Love them or hate them?

Depends. If it's written nicely then love triangles can be very amusing and...fun even.
But usually they're very tiresome *cough* twilight *cough* Defy *cough* Hungergames *COUGH* Delirium. I think something's stuck in my throat.

Shadowcursed by Gelo R. Fleisher

That was better than i was expecting. Very original!

Bolen is a thief, plying his trade under the spires of an ancient and sprawling city. Worried that he's growing too old, Bolen has lined up a risky job, just to prove that he can still pull one off.

Tonight, he's going to break into a nobleman's vault and help himself to its contents. What he doesn't know is that inside is the key to a secret as old as the city itself.

Kings have killed for it, demons have coveted it, priests have prayed for it, and in a few moments it will be in his hands. And when it is, the adventure of his life will begin.

For starters i have to point out that it started off wonderfully. I love how the author described the environments. He did a great job on the writing. I could really imagine all the scenes clearly, which is very important to me. 

  But... near the end it got a little sloppy, making me think that Gelo either didn't check it or just wrote it really quickly just to finish the book. It was nothing too bad, though. Just a little bothersome.

Also, in the middle it all went a little too slow for me. Too much sitting around and talking to monks and not enough sneaking around and blood. 

Which brings me upon the ending. What was up with that? O.o Not that it was bad or anything, just a little out there. Not exactly what I was expecting. I'm a little sad that it was't a heart-rate-picks-up-omgwhatshappenin?! kind of ending and more of a laugh out loud for no reason one.

The language they used also bothered me. It was very modern and it really killed the medieval mood that was going on.

And now let's talk about Bolen. I don't get what his deal is. First he's brave, going to the Tanni manor and all that, then he's a coward by not just telling Markus that he doesn't have the damn statue. Like c'mon. You're in your 50s, you're an adult and all that. Just tell the guy that you don't have the statue! You're only digging a deeper hole for yourself! -_- But of course my attempts to yell at my Kindle didn't prevent Bolen to do stupid stuff.

Then the whole deal about Markus and his little girlfriend, or whatever she is to him.I don't understand what his power was all about. Sure, he was evil and wanted to engulf the world in shadows or something right? But...how did he manage to get the city under his thumb? Magic, yes, i got that. But i can't really figure out what his limits were. brainwashing, bending flames, transforming into a black monster. Like... hmm. I don't even know what was going on in those last few scenes.

Don't get me wrong, i really enjoyed this novella. It was light and quick to read. But i think it's more for amusement than as a serious book. 

I give Shadowcursed 3.5 stars. it wasn't perfect. A lot could have been improved, but i enjoyed it quite a lot ^.^

I would recommend this novella to you if you're looking for something quick to read. It's only about 100 pages after all.

1. What is your favorite genre of book to read and your favorite book from that genre?

Fantasy for sure. I love to read fantasy because it gives you this kind of escape from the real world.

My favorite book is Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas, which is the third novel in the Throne of Glass series.

2. If you could live in any world from a book, which would it be and why?

Hmm, that's a pretty hard question. There are so many worlds to choose from! Probably... Tril from Soulbound by Heather Brewer. Only because i'd get to be best friends with Kaya and kill graplars with bad-ass katanas! :D 

I just want to say that this book was great! Seriously, go read it. Now. There's lots of mystery and action. Just how i like it.

3. Who is your favorite fictional character of the same sex? Does this character remind you of yourself, or someone you would like to be?

Luna Lovegood! :D As you probably know (if you don't then what's wrong with you?!), Luna is a side character from Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling. She appears first in The order of The Phoenix(Book 5) and i positively love her. I don't really see myself in her because i'm never as calm as she is.

I'm usually all over the place.

She's just so cool. Everybody thinks she's high or something but she's actually really smart and... yeah, she's amazing.

4. Who is your favorite fictional character of the opposite sex? Why? 

mmmm. You can't make me choose! I'm torn between Chaol Westfal from Throne of Glass an George Weasley from Harry Potter :/ 

I can't pick... like, it's not possible. They're both awesome! I suppose... no, just no. I pick both of them! HA.I'm just bad-ass like that.

5. Tell me the most random fact about you. 

Wait, am I not supposed to give you 11 facts already? I'm cutting this from the others! Hmph, i'm not about to give up free information! 

 If I don't like a book's cover i probably won't read it.

I started about a month ago... mainly because i was bored :/ Is that a bad thing? xD

7. If an alien invasion started tomorrow and you had to hide in a bomb shelter, name three things you would bring with you. 

Aside from the clothes i'm wearing? Probably food, water and matches.

8. How many books do you own? (Physical and e-books included)

Really? ...*sigh* Now i have to count all my Ebooks... this is going to take a while.

168 books. That's actually less than i expected! Hmm, that means i should get more *goes to goodreads*

9. If you could pick one supernatural trait to have, what would it be?

Like..ANY supernatural trait? um..compulsion would be kinda awesome. Jup, compulsion it is. I could just compel the whole world to love me :D and i could compel you to comment on this post! *wink wink* *nudge nudge* You should leave a comment!

10. What is your all-time favorite book or series?

Harry Potter.

11. What book are you most anticipating reading, whether it not be released yet, or you just haven't gotten around to it?

I can't wait to read A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sara J. Maas. She's currently one of my favorite authors and has never ceased to amaze me with her novels... Plus it's a Beauty and The Beast retelling! Whohoo! :D Oh, and it will be released on may 5th 2015! I can't wait!

1. I sniff books. What? It's pretty addicting *sniffs book* Hmmmm....
2. Every now and then i get a reader's block and have to take a break from reading for at least 4 days :/
3. I have a dog! ^.^ Her name is Bruna and she's like the most annoying and stupid thing ever. I love her :D 
4. The letter "H" is missing from my keyboard. I know, so interesting huh?
5. Green candy is always the best. If you can pick a color candy; always take green.

The ZOMBIE apocalypse Book Tag!

Okay! So i found this Tag on youtube ^.^ It was invented by This Guy. He's really hilarious so go check out his channel!

Basically, I have chosen 5 physical books from my shelves. Each book will answer two questions. The first name I see when I flip through the book will be the answer of that question. For example: Who is the first to get shot? *opens book at random page* Daemon Black! Oh my, poor daemon *smirks* I will only go to your funeral if there's cake ;). Because i'm just that awesome.

So the first book is Half Bad by Sally Green

 ^.^ I loved that book. It was really interesting and written beautifully.

Then there's the three musketeers by Alexandre Dumas. In the picture you might notice that it's actually I Tre Moschettieri... That's because it's written in Italian :P

Next up is Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince by you know who. God i love this book so much! 

Aaaand then we have Catching fire by Suzanne Collins! Written in Dutch as you might have noticed :P.

I loved the hungergames.. Mockingjay was my favorite of the trilogy. You know, war and everything. I hated Katniss though. Selfish piece of human.

And LAST LAST BUT NOT LEAST we have Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone!

Love this book. 'Nuff said.

Now let's get down to the actual page flipping skedaddle shall we? :D We shall!

First question for catching fire is The first person to die? Haymitch! D: No... i liked Haymitch... *cries* Ugh. Atleast he didn't turn into a zombie.

Third question! The first person to turn into a zombie? Headless Nick... But he's already dead! D: that doesn't count! *flips again* Slughorn! hmm, i actually see him turning into a zombie xD Would be fun. I'd keep his head with me in a basket and sell it on Ebay ^.^

sixth questionnn. The "brains" of the team? Jessica. WHAT no. I'm not going to be in this group if JESSICA is the smart one! D:< She's like the meanest, dumbest, annoyingest (yes, that's a word), traitorous bastard ever!

Dangerous Reflections (The Adventures of Alexis Davenport, book one) By Shaw West

This book really surprised me, i thought it was going to be one of those stereo-typical girly teen novels where the whole book is about love but the author tries to hide that fact by adding some sort of supernatural skedaddle *cough* Lux *cough* 

But i actually really enjoyed it.

 

Alexis Davenport wants to go home. She hates her new school, her mother for moving her away from her friends, and her father for walking out.

To make matters worse, Alex is haunted by images of strange girls reflected in her mirror. It’s bad enough juggling homework, a relentless bully, boys, and a deadbeat dad; now, she must save the world from an evil presence hell-bent on changing the past – and our futures. Who knew her A+ in history was going to be this important?

Lets start with the plot. I think it was a very refreshing look on time-travel. To be honest, i've never really read any books on such a topic and i thought it would be kind of far-fetched. But hey, i read books about alternative universes where people fight each other with giant flaming pitchforks, so i can't really complain. 

That's actually the first thing that really surprised me, i found myself enjoying the idea of time travel and the way it was showcased in this novel.
I also was very shocked that i actually liked the romance that was going on, which wasn't a lot, but it was nice. I didn't like Beau at all, and i was expecting him and Alexis to end up together (thank the universe that it didn't happen). All in all it was very realistic when Alex was in school. There was bullying, jealousy, love and new-found friendships  ^.^ And the way she dealt with all of the crap everyone gave her just gave it all an extra ounce of realism and...fun.
Also, the action scenes and her time spend in the past were pretty good :). I loved the way she analysed everything and was able to recall all these little facts about important people. Like i said before, the time traveling was described in a very creative way. But... one thing that i found kind of strange is how calm she was when finding out that she could travel through time. Like, sure she was confused and everything, but she adapted pretty quickly and accepted all the stuff that was going on almost immediately.
I would probably have an emotional breakdown in the corner or something.
    I also loved the whole reason why she was traveling through time, (superhero! ^.^) it adds just the right amount of suspense to the book. I'm not often a fan of the whole good guy/bad guy thing, but Shay got me to the point of craving to know what the "evil intentions" of this Master guy were. I'm kind of mad that she left me in my suspense... after this review i'm diving into the sequel, Twisted Reflections, to figure it all out ;).

Alexis was a great character. There, i said it. She most certainly wasn't perfect, but very realistic and witty. What made me love her is that you can really see her grow up as you read. At first she's very insecure and doesn't want to stand up for herself. But as she travels through time and has all these experiences, she just becomes more confident and keeps caring less about what people think of her. It was really interesting to read. She was kind of mean to her mother, though. I really wanted to slap her several times when she gave her mother a hard time. But i suppose that's just how teens are *sigh*.
   Other than Alexis, the other characters really stood out. All of them had their own distinct personalities and were unique.

The best thing about this book was definitely the way it made my stomach turn every time Alex got into trouble while time traveling or when she got bullied. It really made me feel sad and i wanted it all to get better for her. When she started to stick up for herself and have fun i really got happy, to the point that i had this huge grin on my face and my family started asking what the hell was so funny that i had to keep laughing out loud while reading. I even found my heart rate picking up when there was some real action going on. That hasn't happened in ages, usually i just have an impassive face while reading, but Dangerous Reflections really got to me.

Oh, and can I just point out that the cover is BEAUTIFUL! Like, wow. It really catches your attention. I like it very much.

There was a pretty funny type-o that i want to share really quickly. there weren't many, but this one made me giggle. Even though it's kind of lame but oh well. ;). So.. after Alex gets kissed for the first time she's all happy and all of that. And then she thinks to herself: My fist kiss! yeah, fist. Not funny at all, i know. Just leave me and my bad sense of humor alone!  D':

I'll give this book 3 bright and shining golden stars! It wasn't perfect, but just fun and light to read. I really recommend this book to you if you're... into time traveling? Jup, i suppose that's right. Dangerous Reflections really is a page-turner and i read it in an hour or two.

At One's Beast by Rachel Barnard

Ugh.

That really sums up this book. Brace yourselves for the most negative review in the history of pandas.

Every girl and boy in the village of Frey fears the beast who lives in the forest. Ten years ago, the beast was formed from the town’s rage -- and the evil that lurks inside all people in moments of weakness. Every year since, the townspeople have sacrificed one of their own to appease his anger. This year the sacrifice does not go as planned. A young man saves the chosen girl from fate. She is torn between doing her duty and untangling the identity of her savior and captor. The young man grew up with thoughts of revenge on the town that turned their backs on him, but when he is close to the girl, he is reminded of who he used to be. From once upon a time to happily ever after, the people of Frey will have to rally together to rid the town of evil once and for all, but in the process will they destroy everything that is good in their world?

I wish i could say that At One's Beast at least started off good... but that would be a big lie. So, basically this novel evolves around the city of Frey. But there's some kind of "evil" lingering in the town? That's the first point of how bad this book was. The author gave no explanation whatsowever about this evil or how it got into Frey in the first place. She didn't explain why this Well was so important! Like... why? Why was this evil there, you can't just say EVERYBODY IS EVIL MWUAHHAHAHA and then just go along with that. NO, you can't. it ruined the book, darling. One of the main characters is Zosimos or "Zos" if you will, he fell into the "evil well" that i mentioned above. But that whole scene was so vague that i didn't understand what was going on at all. He heard "voices"in his head that compelled him closer to the well? WHY. Rachel, you need to give explanations, not leave open ends everywhere! It just made the whole reading a pain in the behind because nothing made sense.
Also, after Zos got pulled out of the well, he was covered in black stripes or something. Like tattoos ,i assume, that ran across his body.

Okay Bee, take a deep breath.

Also, i didn't connect to the characters at all. Whenever something happened that brought danger upon any character i just... got bored. I didn't care at al about Alcina, the female main character. The love triangle didn't affect me, because i couldn't be bothered to care about both boys. Alcina just claimed that Aethon was her childhood best friend... but we never saw any real interaction between them.

Hmm, oh. So another infuriating thing about this book is that Zos was supposed to be "the beast" of whom the villagers were all afraid of. But... i don't get WHY they were afraid of him. Because yes, when living in the woods he did raid some shops. But that's it. He didn't kill anyone. a as far as I know he hadn't seen any human for years... so why were the villagers still making a big deal out of him? He was living peacefully in his little house in the woods, nobody had even seen him. So there you have that question again. WHY. Nothing made sense.

I could rant on forever, but i think this is enough negativity for today. 

Okay, maybe just one last thing ;)

the ending... god. Spoiler alert right here.
So it's a happy ending. The people of Frey suddenly accept Zos because he saved some random girl. ... i don't.... WHAT?! For YEARS they were afraid of him. for YEARS they repelled him. And he saves one girl. i repeat, ONE GIRL. And he is welcome back with open arms? No. Fuck that. Also, for some magical reason the stripes on his skin vanish, except for one black tear streak on his cheek.

No, just no. I dreaded reading this book. I kept procrastinating and just didn't want to read it -.-
I don't recommend this book to you. And Rachel, if you read this, please consider rewriting your book.
This awful novel deserves no stars at all. But am i allowed to do that? Whatever. 0 stars for At one's Beast.

Sunday's Poems #2

^.^ Why hello there! It's time for another Sunday's Poems! (I still don't have an
other name... Yikes) So let's get right to business!

Sunday's poems is an original meme by yours truly. It's a relatively simple meme. Basically you:

So, for those who have no idea who Emily Dickson is, she's more of a gardener than a poet. Most (*cough* all of them) poems of hers evolve around metaphors...using plants. Go figure. 

But who am I to criticize? I actually quite enjoy her  poetry ^.^ even though it gets a little dramatic in there sometimes, but you gotta give a girl some space to weep about her bees grass. 

um...right, so i'll do a quick walk through of how i comprehend the meaning of this creative poem. 

In the first few lines, Emily likes to emphasize that she's god in her garden. She decides which flower is to live and which is to die. 

Then, about the bee and butterfly and bird and breeze, writing about them as if to mourning over the loss of a friend. And the last few lines just tell the truth. What is a simple little rose to us? Nobody will give a dead rose a second glance. 

This poem is pretty much one big metaphor. Because it's pretty much like humans, right? Sure, close friends will mourn over a lost one... but the rest of the world? Nobody really cares. Just another dead person, like many others. So yeah... kind of depressing huh? 

Now.... a book that fits this poem? umm... *goes to shelves* 

So... i chose The Fault in Our Stars for two reasons. One, because it is camped with metaphors. And two, because hazel pretty much thinks of herself as a small dot in the universe.

I suppose that explains my motives? Seriously, though. You should read this book. I really enjoyed it ^.^ Even though it is extraordinarily over rated (guess why? Cancer patients.). Just be prepared, The Fault in Our Stars is cramped with metaphors and sickening drama.  Yes, sickening, i know what i said. It was... pretty annoying. All these philosophical teenagers were getting on my nerves. Buuuuut, i can't say more bad things about it or my friend will fry me alive ;).

The Murder Complex by Linsday Cummings

At first i didn't really want to write this review because i have very mixed feelings towards this book... but then again, i made this blog to share my views. And so here i am with yet another review! :)

Synopsis:

Meadow Woodson, a fifteen-year-old girl who has been trained by her father to fight, to kill, and to survive in any situation, lives with her family on a houseboat in Florida. The state is controlled by The Murder Complex, an organization that tracks the population with precision.

The plot starts to thicken when Meadow meets Zephyr James, who is—although he doesn’t know it—one of the MC’s programmed assassins. Is their meeting a coincidence? Destiny? Or part of a terrifying strategy? And will Zephyr keep Meadow from discovering the haunting truth about her family?

Before anything else i have to say that The Murder Complex was good...well, for the first 50 paged, that is.
You see, i received this book over a book-swap and was intrigued by the name. Because lets face the facts, "The Murder complex" just screams "BLOOD. LOTS OF DEATH LIES WITHIN ME!" So yeah, i was pretty intrigued. And the book was truly good in the beginning, but when shit went down the plot was very predictable. And if there's one thing i hate it is when the nutella runs out. And if there's another thing i hate it is when you figure the plot out way before the main character does.

Okay, that was really the biggest flaw of this book.

Another flaw, in my opinion, was the relationship between Meadow and Zephyr (love the names btw). Insta love much? For one, it doesn't fit Meadow's personality to get attached to someone in that way. Love means death. That's usually lesson number one in the ya dystopian main character guide for survival.
It wasn't exactly love at first sight, well, not for Meadow anyway. She did like him though...but...
Yeah, getting back on track. So in short: Meadow tries to keep her distance at first but when her family gets kidnapped she suddenly falls in love and after that she wants to kill him and actually shoots him in the leg and after that they're all happy-couple again! ^.^ YAY! ..wait what? Not yay. Not freaking yay! I don't get their deal. They know eachother for hardly a weak and they're willing to die for eachother? *sigh* fine fine. I'm going to try and stop criticizing every romance in any book i read... i just can't stand stand insta love, kay?! Kay.

Hmm... what else? *looks at notes* Right! So even though i figured most of the plot out from the beginning... the few plot twists in the end did get to me. Plus that ending! Phew! !SPOILER so in the end she like... prepares to me killed but she wants to take as many "leeches" with her, right? In my opinion she should have shot herself right then and there. No sequel or anything. Just a bloody stand alone. ...but that's just my messed up opinion ;).

I really liked Meadow, she wasn't as stupid as most semi-badass main characters. She kept her calm and killed without mercy. Just how i like it.   

Overall this book was pretty amusing. But... nothing to take too serious. It reminded me heavily of mockinjay (the hunger games #3). I'm not saying that miss Cummings copied anything, but the YA genre is so cramped that there's really no space for creativity. Most ideas are already taken, so coming up with something original is very tricky.

Still i liked it, even though it isn't the greatest book out there. It was amusing and in the end it did keep me on my toes.
So if you're sick of reading those heavy graphic novels and want something light then i'd say join The murder complex! ^.^ We're a happy family, i promise! >:-)

I just loved that xD.
Anywayyy, i give this novel two blood-dripping stars. I was torn between giving it one or two... but now i'm going through my notes, it doesn't seem fair to give it merely one star.

Captive in the dark (The Dark Duet #1) by C.J. Roberts.

So this book is definitely one of the darkest books I've read. To be honest, my whimpiness didn't even want to read it... but i got dared and just couldn't refuse.

After reading this horrific book i was jumpy for days -_- ugh.

If you like to read about girls being kidnapped and whatnot then this book is perfect for you! If you are one of these people then please consider going to a doctor to check out your brain.

White Chocolate ~ your favorite lighthearted/humorous read.

Glimmerglass (faeriewalker #1) by Jenna Black

Just kind of a mindless read that you can pick up whenever you're bored. It's full of sarcasm and stupid jokes... it's pretty short, too. Only about 200 pages. ;) To be honest the rest of the series kind of loses its humor. And so i just reread the first book time after time.

Milk chocolate ~ A book that's gotten a lot of hype and that you're dying to read.

In The Afterlight (The Darkest Minds #3) by Alexandra Bracken.

I'M SO EXCITED! I NEED IT NOWWW! ahhhh i can't wait for October to come! I need to know what's going to happen to my precious chubs!!!! D:

Chocolate with a Caramel Center ~ A book that made you feel all gooey inside while reading.

hmm, that's a tricky one. I'm not very into romance, so let's give a new definition to gooey >:)

Haunter by Charlee Jacob

Okay, HOLY CRAP BALLS. This disgusting tale made me gag a dozen times and almost made me puke. several times. It's so graphic... xD i loved it!

So... if you like reading about demons squishing people  (very graphically) until their guts fall out and then then proceed to eat those guts, then here's the perfect book for you!

I also recommend having a bucked and peppermint withing your reach when reading.

Wafer-free KitKat ~ A book that surprised you lately.

Dark Triumph (His Fair Assassin #2) by Robin LaFevers.

I kind of only read Grave Mercy because of a buddy read... and i'm not going to spoil anything. IT'S AWFUL. every little thing about it sucks. The politics are boring. Which says a lot because i love when politics are involved with books. But nooo, these were just boring and irrelevant! Plus The main character was such a pain in the behind -_-...

Anyway, moving on xD.

Dark Triumph was good. Very Good. Way better than Grave Mercy, which i didn't expect at all. Sybella, the badass main character, is pretty realistic. She's... bloodthirsty, which is an important trait for an assassin. She's not a prude as the MC of grave mercy (thank Mortain). I must admit that the plot was a tad... weird... but other than that it was pure amusement and totally not what had anticipated.

Snickers ~ A book you're going nuts about.

Heir of fire (Throne of Glass #3) by Sara J. Maas

IT'S WONDERFUL OMG I LOVE IT! It's coming out on September 2th! I really recommend this book to you. Its funny, sad, beautiful, bloody and a 100% fan-girl worthy! :) Here's a link to my review!

Hot Chocolate with Cream and Marshmallows ~ A book you would turn to for comfort.

Nice one! Hmm... I'm going to cheat here and pick two books that always manage to cheer me up :).

1. Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone. by J.K. Rowling

It's my childhood buddy... what can I say? It makes me feel good :)


2. The Assassin's Blade by Sarah J. Maas

I just love reading about Celaena and everything written in the novellas. It's a really light read and just...kind of mindless. You can just wander o
ff in your thoughts because there's no mysterious plot lines or anything like that. Just a nice relaxing little book to read when stressed out. It never fails to calm me down :).

Box of chocolates ~ A series you've read that has a wide variety and a little something for everyone.

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead  

I really liked this series :) It came as a shock that there is another series going on (bloodlines), of which i was totally oblivious *facepalms*. 

Basically, these books contain lots of romance, but also suspense, violence, humor and it's written really good :) Plus the vampires don't sparkle.Aaaaaaand there's a very awesome Rose Hathaway that you just can't help but love.

Sunday's poems is an original meme by yours truly. It's a relatively simple meme. Basically you:

I'm so glad that i got this poem! Edgar Allan Poe is by far my favorite poet. The way he writes is formidable and engulfs me with emotion every time i read one of his poems.

Sad yet beautiful, Annabel Lee is about the love of a man and a woman who, as they grow up, fall deeply in love. But, as time passes, his beloved Anabel Lee catches a disease... only to die some time later.
 "So that her highborn kinsman came. And bore her away from me..." means that the family of Annabel brought her body away to bury her.

I love this poem, i've been re-reading it for years and i just... i don't know. Poe inspires me so much and i can't even describe how i feel after reading his work.

Hmm, this is a tricky one... A book that fits the poem? probably Don't Die, My Love. I know, I know. Great title, huh?  Don't Die, My Love is about the young lovers Julie and Luke. But, Luke catches a disease bla bla bla then he gets better for a month or so and then, spoiler alert, he dies! Phew, didn't see that coming eh?  


Well, that was it for this first Sunday's Poems! I might change that name because *shudders*...it's kinda lame, yeah? But i'll get to that later.

Throwing stuff upside down!

So, you might have noticed that my layout has been changing every now and then since i made this blog... well, after this mayor change i'm pretty sure that i'm not changing it again. *shrugs* I always get bored with templates after a while... so we'll have to see if after a month or so i still like it ;P

Heir of Fire by Sara J. Maas

Bravo Sara J. Maas! Bravo for yet another great book.

I don't know how i am supposed to write a review for this book. I can not summon the words that could describe it.
This book wasn't great, no. It was glorious!

 ^._.^ Heir of Fire was by far the best book i've read in years. Hell, it's probably the best book i've read ever. It even went so far that it surpassed my love for harry potter. THAT is how glorious it was. By now i have read this book twice over the last 3 days... and damn, i will read it again and again until i memorize every word and emotion written on those glorious pages (Gee i'm being dramatic).

Okay, so i'm going to wipe the drool and tears off my face and actually write this wyrd forsaken review!

First things first. HoF is written in multiple point of views, which was most certainly a trait that i loved the most about the novel. Not only do we follow Celaena, or should i say Aelin, on her heart breaking journey, but we also join Dorian, Chaol, a brutal blackbeak, a traiterous healer, a kickass Fae warrior and a few other loyal followers of her majesty Aelin Ashryver Galathynius. Unlike some other books i've read these few past years, none of the storylines were either irrelevant or boring. It didn't matter if i was following Aelin through her struggles fo find inner peace or Chaol and Dorian in the castle. I loved all the storylines. All the point of views. Simply because it was written beautifully. And this is not exaggerated one bit. I loved every single character, to the point that i even liked the bad guys. That is how well Sara J. Maas wrote. Every little detail. It was refined and thought through and... just glorious!

I must admit that i did like Aelin's story best. I even had to wipe away a few tears at some point ("You left me. I have no one left. No one." I died).

From the first page to the last i wasn't able to tear myself away from my e-reader... i might have forgotten to feed the dog. DON'T JUDGE ME D:.

I am so proud of all of the characters. They have grown so much... even Dorian isn't a selfish little bastard anymore!

But, even though this novel was fantastic and deserves every pixel of the 5 golden stars i will give it, there are some tiny little bit a that didn't add up.
How do i put this without spoiling stuff? Hmm, the fact that aelin (celaena) at first didn't want to be queen. Then, after a long long time, she swore she would be the best queen ever or something, and then again she... hesitated? Like she just wanted to go back to being Celaena *sigh*. Maybe i just misinterpreted that part. But it was a little vague of you ask me.

That was the only thing i noticed about this book, though. Almost flawless.

It's so hard not to burst open and poor my feelings down on this blog xD But i suppose i can't spoil anything -.- ugh, okay here goes my attempt to be excited without spoiling stuff:

Manon Blackbeak.

The magic was great. As you already know, well if you've read crown of misnight that is, Aelin has the gift of fire. She can bend it to her will if she trains hard enough. But the way the Magic is described and how itnall works is... good. Really really good. It's not overpowered or useless.. it's perfect. The way you inherit the powers from your ancestors and all that mojo... it's fantastic. Plus the fire weapon thing was totally awesome.

Ironteeth! So you remember baba yellowlegs? Pretty, pointy teeth, iron nails that can tear gour throat out? Yeah, that one. Well, in HoF we travel along with Manon, the heir of the blackbeak clan (she's my second favourite character ;) ). They're brutal and badass and cruel and heartless and badass! Their bloodlust and everything just... i don't know... fascinates me. I liked that storyline a lot. Lot's of blood ;).

Dear readers, i recommend you read this book once it's out. No, i recommend you run to whatever bookstore is nearest and pre order now!
